Learning Objectives

In this unit you will extend previous learning from 6th grade, describing the relationships among integers and rational numbers.

• Students will describe the different classifications of rational numbers using a visual representation.
• Students will describe the relationships between the subsets.

Day 1: Describe the characteristics of each subset of rational numbers using a visual representation. (7.2A)

• What are the sets and subsets of the rational number system?

Day 2: Classify each set and subset of rational numbers (7.2A)

• How are the relationships between the sets and subsets of the rational number system proven?

Day 3: Describe the relationship between sets and subsets of rational numbers with and without given a visual representation using conjectures and counterexamples. (7.2A)

• How can a Venn diagram be used to write descriptions about the relationships between the sets and subsets?

Day 4: Use the relationships between sets and subsets of rational numbers to determine the solutions to problems. (7.2A)

About Ms. Hill

Background

I am a proud alumni of Baylor University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Special Education.  After graduating from Baylor, I began teaching 7th grade math, at Bailey Junior High. The mission of Bailey Junior High is to support and empower all students to achieve their personal, artistic, and academic success. I am honored to work at a school where all staff provide a safe environment, promote accountability, and engage the community in support of our students' achievements.  

This year, I will be co-teaching with Mr. Hernandez.
